Modernising Egyptian air travel

After decades of unrest, Egypt’s economy is booming, giving a generation of young, optimistic Egyptians the chance to travel more within the region. Meanwhile, greater flight connections, both within Egypt and surrounding GCC nations, provide Egyptian businesses with access to key markets for the nation’s future prosperity.

To take advantage of this opportunity, Fly Egypt were evolving from a charter airline to a hybrid model, adding a growing number of scheduled routes across Egypt and beyond. The brand strategy therefore needed to appeal to both to international package holiday providers visiting Egypt’s historical sights, and a new generation of ambitious, tech-savvy Egyptians representing the future economy.

The brand positioning ‘Brighter Travel’ helps to shape perceptions towards optimism and possibilities. Building from this positioning, we developed a visual identity that referenced the historic Egyptian elements sought after by tourists, but in a fresh, modern way. The brand design style extended across onboard touchpoints and branded content produced for their social media brand campaign. The rebrand allows Fly Egypt to become the low-cost carrier for Egyptians to travel locally, creating an affordable customer experience that is tuned into the wants and needs of a younger, more socially aware traveller.
